As a very successful year comes to a close, Wood Group PSN put on a BBQ Breakfast for the staff at Agfab Engineering to acknowledge the effort and support the Agfab team has provided.
Numerous activities have been undertaken for the Wood Group during 2015 to support the required maintenance activities and contractual obligations ensuring Melbourne Water assets remain operable.
The most recent major works were undertaken at Yering Gorge Pump Station where a major valve failure caused serious disruption to its operational capacity.
Agfab removed the damaged 1100mm valve and associated pipe works, fabricated make-up pieces, fabricated and installed portal manholes too allow controlled Confined Space Entry access, refitted new valves and welded the new make-up pieces back into position providing a fully operational system back to Melbourne Water.
The preparation for the works was complex and required significant interaction between Agfab – WGPSN - Melbourne Water to ensure SWMS, Isolation plans (some 95 isolations) and access protocals to this secured site were undertaken in an organised manor, the collective outcome was a compliment to all involved.
